Work Permits

We assist foreign nationals in obtaining employment authorization in a variety of cases. Examples include, but are not limited to:

  • Asylum applicants: If your asylum application has been pending with the court or the asylum office  for at least 150 days, through no fault of your own, you may be eligible for a work authorization.

  • Deferred Action Childhood Arrivals (DACA) renewals: A person who already holds DACA status may be currently eligible to renew their status and work authorization, providing they are not otherwise ineligible under the law.

  • Temporary Protected Status holders (TPS) renewals: Holders of TPS status in countries designated for TPS protection may be eligible to renew their work permits.

  • Adjustment of Status to Permanent Resident: Applicants for adjustment of status to permanent resident may apply for work authorization, whilst awaiting completion of their residency application.

  • Granted Withholding of Removal/Asylum: A person who has been granted asylum or withholding of removal may apply for work authorization.

  • H-1B Visas: Any person who has a job offer in a professional position, which typically requires a bachelors degree or higher, may be eligible to obtain an U.S. Employer-sponsored H-1B visa for specialty occupations. This type of visa is limited to 65,000 annual regular issuances. If you do not have a bachelors degree or higher you may be able to show degree equivalence through work experience and/or other qualifications.
