Following her graduation from law school in London, England, Lara spent time working in private practice, before moving to the United States and settling in Baltimore, Maryland, where she started her own practice in 2002. Lara is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and represents clients nationwide and internationally in U.S immigration and business & real estate law. 

Lara is a keen traveler and is fluent in French and Spanish, with a working knowledge of German and Italian.
